2010 LCP: Day 1 Tuxtla Gutierrez to Oaxaca PHOTOS

The typical crowd at the start of a speed stage, this year complete with a helicopter for the famous racers.

We had been stopped in traffic for 30 minutes and knew there was a bad crash up ahead....these turned out to be Derek and Brad's skid marks.

Brad's Lincoln on the left side of the road.  In this mountainous speed stage, this was the best possible place to crash.  There wasn't anything but air beyond the edge of that grass.

Bummer, Jake and Tony!
Waiting for the traffic to move at a speed stage start.

Typical Mexican road construction.

Typical Mexican breathtaking beauty!

More skid marks.  Always good to see two people in race suits standing nearby.

A blue ???? Buick?

Dia de los Muertos is coming.

I was really bummed to see Bill's car on the trailer on Day 1.

A beautiful full moon on 22-Oct-10.

Caught up with Julio - all smiles!

Late night work on the BON while Kristin cooks on the trailer.
