2022 Bonneville Speed Week - Ton Up Baby! (Got Rained Out!)

Aaaaand we will see you on the salt in August! Introducing Salty Banshee, a 1970 Honda CL350 ready to fly down the world's fastest runway! La Bandida Racing is sponsored by TBZ Racing, Woody's Wheel Works, and Rocky Mountain Mobile Repair. 

Although she's gone 80 mph on a friend's 100cc race bike during Speed Week, her dream is to go "Ton Up" and hit 100 mph on a cool vintage racer. The bike she hopes will do that will debut at 2022 Speed Week. The "Salty Banshee" is a 1970 Honda CL350 that was raced in the AHRMA in the mid-1990s at Laguna Seca, Daytona, Mid-Ohio and more. She is excited to bring it back to life after 25 years of storage with her partner, Mike Tucci of Rocky Mountain Mobile Repair, and join the unofficial 100 club! 

She also plans to run against an open record on Frank Puckett's 1963 Honda 90 pushrod. Kristin owes her love of racing to her father, The Geezer, who passed away in February 2022, and she will continue to ride like the wind for him. Her mother is her #1 fan and had no inkling that allowing her daughter to purchase a 49cc Honda moped when she was 12 would turn into land speed racing on small bikes! 

Kristin founded the "Bonneville Land Speed Racing Women" Facebook page that honors and highlights women in racing and hosts a happy hour during Speed Week for women racers, crew, officials, volunteers, family and fans; men are very welcome as well. Please join the Facebook page to share your stories and get info on the timing of the happy hour event!  This year it is Friday, August 5th from 4-5pm on the salt in front of the registration booth.

Kristin hopes that all children, especially young girls are inspired by her path and learn that their dreams are achievable and that they don't have to go 200 or 300 mph; they can do their own thing and go their own speed! Speed is a Number - Fast is a Feeling!
