Screening Party for the GT Racer LCP Debut in Minneapolis

A heartfelt thank you to the 40-some friends and family who joined us at Brothers Bar & Grill downtown Minneapolis to watch the debut of GT Racer episode 4 on the 2008 La Carrera Panamericana - it was a blast!

The film is absolutely fantastic - GIANT kudos to the superbly talented Alexander Davidis and his amazing film crew - we all loved it.

The story line closely follows the three driver/navigator teams of Todd's race cars:
Richard & Simon in the Bag O'Nails ('65 Mustang)
Marc & Rupert in the Cliquot Chico ('64 Falcon)
Martin & Jon in the Gypsy Wind ('65 Mustang)

The film truly captures the spirit of LCP through the eyes of the competitors and crew. You can feel the adrenaline, the danger, the excitement, the fatigue, the joy, the fear, the beauty, the racing, the countryside, the people, MEXICO - all of it in the span of 50 minutes. Amazing to have the talent to capture that on film and absolutely exhausting to watch it.

2007: One Less Grasshopper in Oaxaca

We were among the first to arrive at the beautiful Victoria hotel overlooking Oaxaca. Though the cloud cover was low and we got rain off and on, I could see that we were in a large valley surrounded on all sides by imposing mountains. The dramatic view and the low clouds reminded me of Anchorage. This is a beautiful city! The beautiful Hotel Victoria overlooking the city of Oaxaca We got El Jefe off the trailer and fired her up. (I know she's got a man's name but it doesn't feel right to call a car a man......like, "He's running fine today.") The sound of El Jefe always gives me the chills when I first hear her throaty growl and feel the power. I drove her through the hotel grounds and was happy to have a handle on her again. Geezer and Rene showed me all the interior improvements from last year: the new and improved racing seats, repainted and sleeker interior, hooks behind the seats for our helmets, a better clipboard for the route book, a sturdier water bot...

2013 Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival & Mini LCP Reunion

The Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival was amazing and the best part was getting to see a whole pile of La Carrera friends.  Nothing but smiles and laughter the whole weekend!  And there nothing like California wine country, it is so beautiful.  Also met some fabulous new friends and spent Saturday with my cousins and Sunday with a dear old friend/former coworker.  The Carrera folks I saw included Michael Emery, Luca Maciucescu, Rich Morrison, Martin Lauber and his mechanic Eric, Chip Fudge, and Joe Harding.  On Sunday I finally read the race program and was stoked to see that Martin McGlone was racing.  I ran all over that place three times looking for him until I learned he had blown his Bugatti engine at Mille a few weeks prior and didn't make this race.  Sorry to miss you, Martin!  Also had a near miss as Brad and Erin Kaplan are road tripping in their 1929 Ford Pickup and I just missed them by a day but Lauren Scheller sent a photo of...
